2015 AHM: Another Collaborative Success

By Natalie Willoughby

This blog is a long time coming, but as most of you know, the 2015 All Hands Meeting took place on April 17, 2015. We had a packed house at the New Mexico Tech Fidel Center, and the day was spent collaborating and networking. The morning sessions helped the group examine implicit biases, and the afternoon sessions combined two components together to discuss progress in the project thus far as well as ideas for the future. The luncheon keynote was presented by NSF EPSCoR Program Officer Audrey Levine. Audrey spent the previous day at UNM meeting many of our researchers and touring their labs. Some New Mexico Tech researchers also got to show off some equipment and experiments with Audrey as well. All in all, it was a useful and enjoyable day for everyone. Here's some feedback we received about what participants found useful about the meeting:

"The cross collaboration and the charged discussions. The meeting was both productive and engaging. The student poster session was interesting and well attended."

"Getting to meet with other energy components was nice. I do feel that there is room for collaboration and I feel that making us meet sends the message that we should always be thinking in that type of holistic manner. Getting an update on future NSF funding availability and EPSCoR progress was beneficial."

"Meeting other colleagues and networking. I also was very impressed with the quality of the student presentations!"
