We invite you to participate actively in a discussion about the NSF Directorate for Geosciences’ commitment to creating connections and support for transformative geoscience. The presentation and discussion will focus on NSF’s stewardship of public funding for geoscience research, research infrastructure, and people (who shape research and education). We will highlight various programs from around the Directorate that support discovery in a wide range of geoscience topics and the development of and access to research facilities and the wealth of data they produce. Furthermore, we will discuss how NSF invests in people and communities, the structures to address shared societal challenges, and the meaningful way in which people of diverse backgrounds have shaped geoscience research. Let us learn together and build a multifaceted geoscience knowledge-base and community!
