Job Summary: Eastern New Mexico University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Biochemistry as faculty in the Physical Sciences department. ENMU has an ACS-certified chemistry program offering chemistry and biochemistry B.A, B.S., and M.S. degrees, as well as interdisciplinary degrees in Forensic Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Allied Health fields, Geochemistry, etc. The department has use of a newly remodeled teaching and laboratory Science building, and modern biochemical instrumentation and equipment (including NIH-funded biochemistry core facility).
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. in Biochemistry OR Chemistry (or closely related field) with an emphasis in biological/bioorganic/bioinorganic chemistry. Duties include, but are not limited to teaching biochemistry courses and lab at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as teaching the non-majors chemistry course and/or other courses and labs as needed by the program. Candidates will be required to maintain a research program involving undergraduate and Master’s degree thesis students. Prior teaching (including lecture) experience is highly desirable. Ability to use modern biochemical instrumentation and techniques is also desirable.
